The museum usage opportunities
Exhibitions
A classic 150 m2 large exhibition hall with gallery wall systems available. An opportunity to place free-standing displays. The room is divided by four columns. No specific exhibition hall lighting. The 800 m2 of the Hall may be used for classic art exhibitions, exhibiting of large sculptural works, video projections, installations, etc. The exhibition curator is responsible for the layout, lighting and displays.
Concerts and theatre plays
The Hall is suitable for various concerts of both classical and popular music. The layout of the stage and chairs is up to the customer. Maximum capacity ~800 people. The museum does not provide sound and light systems, ticket sales and control. We offer stage and dance floor rental; 330 chairs available. In the winter months, the cloakroom shall be set up either in the adjacent Exhibition Room or in the Hall itself. Café services shall be provided by the organiser in accordance with the order established in the city of Riga.
Corporate events, weddings, reunions, graduation ceremonies, etc.
The Hall may be used for various types of corporate events, because the interior offers an array of decorating options: from an elegant reception to a merry country-style carnival or a playful children’s Christmas party. The museum does not provide sound and light systems. We offer stage and dance floor rental; 330 chairs available. In the winter months, the cloakroom shall be set up either in the adjacent Exhibition Room or in the Hall itself. Café services shall be arranged by the organiser. There are no additional rooms for accommodating artists and/or a kitchen; all activity shall be contained within the Hall and the adjacent Exhibition Room.
Photo sessions
An opportunity to use the museum’s interior, objects from the holdings and rolling stock for the purposes of photo sessions. The museum reserves the right to reject a photo session, if its subject matter is incompatible or potentially harmful to the museum’s image. Photo sessions and time thereof must be previously arranged.
Stopping point in urban environment activities
The museum’s outdoor exposition is often used as a venue for special activities within other events or competitions, thus demonstrating the integrity and variety of the urban environment.
Dinner in the third-class carriage
Starting from autumn 2016, the museum is planning to offer groups of four an opportunity to dine in a romantic atmosphere in the third-class passenger carriage.
Choosing the museum as the venue for your event, we ask you to keep in mind that implementation of certain ideas might be limited due to the museum’s interests and specific character. The museum reserves the right to reject the organisation of an event if it might harm its image, threaten the preservation of the holdings’ objects, significantly limit the museum’s operation or affect its availability to visitors.
