Station Master’s Consoles from Alsunga and Jelgava Stations

Nowadays, railway traffic is organised via centralised traffic control, but not so long ago it was station master’s consoles that were used for this purpose. Consoles are devices that allow to create a route and make sure of the accuracy of signals, as well as monitor safety and correct implementation of routes. These relatively small devices precisely communicate the status of railway tracks, signalling equipment and points, giving visitors a sense of the scope of the station and the importance and responsibility of a traffic controller’s job.
