Armored saloon car. The coach was built in Russia
at the beginning of 20-th century. It was built for
Eastern Chinese Railway needs. The bottom of the car (up
to windowsill) is coated by thick bullet proof steel
covering. During World War II the coach was given to
Soviet Army General J.Bagramjan disposal. After the war
being commanders-in-chief of Baltic military district
major-general, later – marshal Bagramjan used the coach
for business trips to red army troops in Baltic
republics and Kaliningrad region. When marshal became
the under-secretary of Ministry of Defense USSR, the
coach went over to Baltic Railways Jelgava department’s
chief. In 1980 in the coach was opened historical,
military patriotic exposition at Jelgava station. In
1996 it was handed to the museum. The coach was
refurbished in 2003. |
